Dong Thap Football Club (Vietnamese: Câu lạc bộ Bóng đá Đồng Tháp), simply known as Dong Thap, is a Vietnamese football club based in Cao Lãnh, Đồng Tháp Province. Following the club's most recent relegation from the top-flight during the 2016 season, Đồng Tháp returned to the V.League 2 for the 2017 campaign. The team is currently playing at Cao Lãnh Stadium.
History
Dissolution and return
Following the 2014 V.League 2 season, the club's corporate sponsor announced that they would no longer fund the club. Not having enough resources to fund the club for their promotion to the 2015 V.League 1 season, the local sporting council decided to dissolve the club. However, a deal with Hong Quang Work Construction & Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company helped save the club ahead of the 2015 season.
Klubbens tidigare namn var Cao Lanh FC. År 2021 bytte klubben namn till Dong Thap FC efter att ha köpts av en lokal affärsman. Dong Thap FC:s mest framgångsrika säsong var 2017, då de vann V.League 2 och avancerade till V.League 1. Klubben åkte dock ned till V.League 2 igen 2019.
Dong Thap FC tränas för närvarande av Phan Thanh Bình, en före detta vietnamesisk landslagsspelare. I laget spelar flera anmärkningsvärda spelare, bland annat försvararen Nguyen Van Quyet och mittfältaren Le Van Thang.
Dong Thap FC är en av de mest populära fotbollsklubbarna i Dong Thap-provinsen. Klubben har en stor fanskara som kallas "The Red Warriors". Dong Thap FC:s hemmamatcher brukar locka stora folkmassor.
