Clubul Sportiv Gilortul Târgu Cărbunești, commonly known as Gilortul Târgu Cărbunești, is a Romanian professional football club from Târgu Cărbunești, Gorj County, currently competes in the Liga III, the 3rd tier of the Romanian football.

History

In the 2013–14 season, Gilortul, led by Sergiu Găman, won the Liga IV Gorj, but lost the promotion play-off match against Minerul Mehedinți, the champion of Mehedinți County, 0–2 after extra time, on 1 Mai Stadium in Slatina.

Coached by Marius Ionel, Gilortul won the Gorj County championship for the second consecutive season, losing again the promotion play-off to Liga III, 3–11 on aggregate with Cetate Deva, the winner of Liga IV – Hunedoara County.

After won the 2015–16 season of the Liga IV – Gorj County, the white-and-blues missed promotion in the third division for the third time in a row, losing the promotion play-off against Hermannstadt, the champion of Sibiu County. After 0–1 at the Municipal Stadium in Sibiu, the team led by Mihai Dinu lost 1–5 at Târgu Cărbunești.

CS Gilortul Târgu Cărbunești är en rumänsk fotbollsklubb från Târgu Cărbunești, Gorj. Klubben grundades 1974 och spelar sina hemmamatcher på Stadionul Municipal. Lagets färger är gult och blått.

CS Gilortul har aldrig spelat i den rumänska högstaligan, och deras främsta merit är att ha vunnit Liga II, den rumänska andraligan, 2004. Klubben har också spelat i Cupa României, den rumänska cupen, vid ett flertal tillfällen, men har aldrig lyckats ta sig längre än kvartsfinalen.
