Club Social Deportivo Vendaval is a professional soccer team of the El Salvadorian city of Apopa.

History

The club most successful campaign was the 1987-1988 season , with players such as . Vendaval reached the final against ADET, however Vendaval ost the match and this was the closest Vendaval would get to reach the first division.

In 2012, the club was forced to merge with Chalatenango to form Chalatenango-Vendaval because of financial difficulties and they currently play in the second division. However after one season, In 2013 the partnership between Chalatenango and Vendaval ended and they split into two teams again, with Vendaval remaining in the Second division while Chalatenango descended to the third division.

Prior to the start of the 2024 Clausura season Vendaval suffered a major crisis with several experienced players leaving the club; Vendaval was able to assemble a squad predominantly made of youth players, the club suffered a horror campaign losing every game and only scoring three goals, and alongside their results from the Apertura 2023 season. Vendaval were relegated to the Tercera Division.

CD Vendaval är ett salvadoranskt fotbollslag baserat i Apopa. Laget grundades 1965 och spelar sina hemmamatcher på Estadio Joaquín Gutiérrez.

Vendaval har vunnit två salvadoranska mästerskap, 1972 och 1974. De har också varit framgångsrika i cuptävlingar, med två segrar i Copa Presidente (1972 och 1976) och en seger i Copa Interclubes UNCAF 1972.

På senare år har Vendaval haft det svårare att hävda sig på högsta nivå i salvadoransk fotboll. Laget har dock fortsatt att producera talangfulla spelare, som Andrés Flores och Christian Castillo.

Vendavals främsta rival är CD Vista Hermosa. De två lagen möts regelbundet i "El Clásico de Apopa", ett av de mest intensiva och prestigefyllda derbyt i salvadoransk fotboll.
